Passport applications are accepted during normal business hours. You will need one color passport photo (can be taken at the Recorder's Office for a fee of $10.00), a certified copy of your birth record, and a photo ID (hospital certificates are not accepted). Both parents are required to appear with a minor under age 16 or a notarized affidavit from absentee parent is required explaining why they are unable to appear, and a copy of their driver's license - front and back. All applicants must appear. Applications must be signed before acceptance agent.
*Two payments are collected at the time of passport execution. The below table shows the amount, which must be made in the form of check or money order to the US Department of State, that is for the passport only. The Linn County Recorder charges a $35 passport execution fee that can be made payable by check, cash or card.
There will be a four- to six-week processing time. For quicker processing (two to three weeks), a $60 expedite fee will be collected at the time your application is submitted. For outgoing and return overnight delivery service an additional fee will be collected.
