What is an “accredited” child care center?

ANSWER
Accreditation is a voluntary process that goes above and beyond state child care licensing standards. While considering all aspects of operation, accreditation has a particular focus on the educational and developmental programming in an early childhood center. The National Association for the Education of Young Children uses a structured self-study and on-site validation process in accrediting programs. Linn County Child Development Center has maintained continuous accreditation since 1990.
