| MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CEDAR RAPIDS, LINN COUNTY, IOWA MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2007 9:00 A.M.
The Board met informally. Present: Chairperson Barron, Vice Chairperson Langston and Supervisor Houser. Board members voting “AYE” unless otherwise noted.
Motion by Langston, seconded by Houser to approve minutes of April 4, 2007 as printed.
Mike Goldberg, Admin. Services, met with the Board to review proposals for repair or replacement of selected exterior doors at Fillmore and Health Buildings. Also present: Garth Fagerbakke, Facilities Mgr. and Steve Nunemaker, Asst. Facilities Mgr.
The cost estimate from Midwest Glazing is $13,500.00 to be paid from Capital funds for the Fillmore doors and Capital repair funds for the Health Dept. doors). The Board asked Goldberg to check on the expiration date of the lease with Abbe.
James Hodina, Health Dept., met with the Board to discuss recommendation for proposed Air Quality Permit Fees for FY 2008.
Supervisor Houser stated that they did not include an increase in burning permits with this proposal. The County Attorney will draft a resolution for the Board to set fees.
The Board listened to an appeal of an OPTIONS consumer that was denied assistance by the MHDD Appeals Committee. Also present: Jeff Clark, Asst. County Atty.; Rusty Goins & Rachel Pettit, OPTIONS; and Brooke Barnhart, Abbe Care Facility.
Jeff Clark stated that the funding did not follow this client when the State made a change in October 2006, therefore, resulting in this client “falling through the cracks”.
Motion by Langston, seconded by Houser to approve the appeal of an OPTIONS client and support funding to continue his employment at OPTIONS 4 days a week.
The Board asked Jeff Clark to draft a letter to Rep. Ro Foege for signature on Wednesday explaining the above-mentioned case, which is a result of the State’s decision last October.

Thank you letters from the Community Health Free Clinic and Willis Dady Emerg. Shelter.
Notice of public hearing from the City of Robins re: request for a lighted sign by Welsh Manufacturing.
Notice of public hearing from City of Cedar Rapids re: agreement between Palo and Cedar Rapids concerning future annexations.
