NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SHOWER AND STORM SHELTER BUILDING
By direction of the Linn County, Iowa, Conservation Board in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 26 of the 2007 Code of Iowa, notice is hereby given that sealed bid proposals will be received by the Conservation Board at its office at 10260 Morris Hills Road, Toddville, Iowa, no later than 2:00 p.m., on TUESDAY, JUNE 19, 2018, for the project entitled SHOWER AND STORM SHELTER BUILDING, PINICON RIDGE PARK PLAINS CAMPGROUND PROJECT # 4-15
The Conservation Board held a public hearing on this public improvement on April 23rd and, following said public hearing, approved the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost of construction for this project.
All bid proposals submitted by the time and date stated above will be publicly opened and read by the Conservation Director or his authorized representative at their office at 10260 Morris Hills Road on TUESDAY, JUNE 19, 2018 at 2:05 p.m. The Conservation Board has delegated this bid opening authority to the Conservation Director in accordance with Chapter 26, Code of Iowa. The Conservation Director will report the results of the bidding and his recommendation at the next Conservation Board meeting scheduled for Monday, June 25, 2018.
This public improvement consists of work to construct the Shower and Storm Shelter building and associated service connections per plans and specifications. The estimated cost of construction for this project is seven hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars ($725,000).
Work associated with this project may commence anytime prior to July 16, 2018 and be completed within 120 working days.
A pre-bid meeting will be conducted on June 5, 2018 at 10am. The location of the meeting will be at the Pinicon Park Maintenance building at 4752 Horseshoe Falls Road, Central City, Iowa 52214.
Construction documents will be issued to Contractors upon deposit of $150.00 per set. Deposits will be refunded upon return of Plans and Specifications in good condition to the printer – Rapids Reproductions within five (5) days after bid opening. Postage and handling per set of Plans and Specifications of $15.00 is payable in advance and is non-refundable. Construction documents are available from the Printer:

All addenda issued during the bidding period are to be covered in the bid and in closing a contract they are to become a part thereof.
Each proposal shall be made on the proposal form prepared for this purpose. Any alteration in the official form of proposal will entitle the County, at its option, to reject the proposals involved from consideration.

By virtue of statutory authority and provisions, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa.
Bids shall be made as unit price bids for the entire work. It is intended that a contract be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Linn County and its Conservation Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor informalities in any bid or to make award in the best interest of the County.
Bid Security - Each bid must be accompanied with a bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. The form of the bid security shall be as prescribe by Chapter 26.8, Code of Iowa. Bid security shall be in a separate envelope marked “Bid Security” which shall also include:

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
Performance Bond – The successful bidder shall be required to provide a performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
An original and a copy of the bid proposal shall be enclosed in an envelope marked “Proposal” and bearing the title of the work and the name of the bidder.
Bidder shall also provide, as part of the bid form, a list of all firms or individuals who will or may work on this project.
