Linn County Board of Supervisors awards $140,000 in economic development funding

On August 17, 2016, the Linn County Board of Supervisors awarded $140,000 in economic development funding to 11 Linn County organizations.

The Linn County Economic Development Fund was established following the 2008 flood to foster and support economic growth and enhance quality of life throughout Linn County. Applications are accepted on an annual basis. For more information, visit www.linncounty.org/economicdevelopment.

Organizations that will receive funding for fiscal year 2017 include:

Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity $15,000
Diversity Focus $10,000
Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC) $10,000
Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa $10,000
National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library $2,500
The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo) $10,000
Neighborhood Transportation Service (NTS) $15,000
Tanager Place $10,000
Trees Forever $5,000
United Way 2-1-1 $2,500
YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Area - New Marion YMCA $50,000

TOTAL $140,000
