The Linn County Historic Preservation Commission invites you to join them Saturday, May 18 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The History Center in Cedar Rapids as they celebrate Linn County’s recent preservation achievements. To begin the event, featured speaker, Julie Barnes, will present the Cornell College Chapel Clock Restoration Project, one of the projects funded through the Linn County Historic Preservation Commission Grant program. The 1882 Seth Thomas clock housed within Cornell’s iconic King Chapel’s clock tower is believed to be the only working Model 17 quarter-striker tower clock in existence and has run almost continuously since it was installed.

This free event is being held in conjunction with National Preservation Month. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP.

The History Center is located at 800 2nd Ave SE in Cedar Rapids.
