Absentee ballots will be available for all eligible voters of Linn County at the Auditor’s Office and satellite voting locations. Voter registration forms will also be available for new registrations and registration changes.

Note that due to the August 2018 Iowa Supreme Court decision, ID is NOT currently required on Absentee Ballot Request Forms.

Absentee ballots may be requested through Linn County Election Services. A request form is also available at linncountyelections.org. The first round of mailed absentee ballots will be sent on Monday, October 8, 2018. Mailed absentee request forms must be received by Saturday, October 27 at 5 p.m.

As a reminder, the Linn County Auditor’s Office recently sent a mailer to Linn County households that included information on voting, an absentee ballot request form and a sample ballot. The sample ballot is not a real ballot and cannot be used for voting. The sample ballot cannot be read by a machine. It can be used for voters to do research and prepare for the election.

To vote in the upcoming election, voters should apply for an absentee ballot, vote in person at a satellite location, vote in person at the Auditor’s Office, or vote at the polls on election day, November 6.

For questions regarding this election, call Linn County Election Services at (319) 892-5300, ext. 1.
