The Gubernatorial General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

Voter Registration

Complete a voter registration form and mail to:

Pre-registration will end on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

Absentee Voting Information

The first day our office can start accepting absentee ballot request forms is Monday, July 9th.

The first day ballots can be mailed out is Monday, October 8th.

The last day our office can receive an absentee ballot request form is Saturday, October 27, 2018 by 5:00 p.m.

Ballots mailed back to our office must be postmarked by November 5, 2018 in order to have the ballot counted. Voters may request a postmark at the Post Office.

Early voting will begin in our office on Monday, October 8th and will run through Monday, November 5th, Monday through Friday.  

Election Services is located at 935 2nd Street SW in Cedar Rapids.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Satellite Information

A satellite station may be requested by filing a petition with the Election Services Department. The petition must contain signatures of at least 100 eligible electors living in the jurisdiction. The petition must be filed with the county auditor conducting the election by the filing deadlines listed in ยง53.11, which varies by election type.

The deadline to submit petitions for the general election is Thursday, September 22, 2018 by 5:00 p.m..
