Morgan Creek Park

Morgan Creek Park has two camping areas: the Morgan Creek campground and group camp. The group camp area must be reserved online. The Morgan Creek campground is a first-come, first-served area. The Morgan Creek campground features 36 50-amp sites, water hook-up, a fire ring with grill, and picnic table. There is a dump station and shower house in the campground area.


Pinicon Ridge Park

Pinicon Ridge Park has several camping loops, four modern cabins and seven group campsites. Most camp sites are first-come, first-serve. The cabins and group camp campground need to be reserved in advance HERE. All campsites have water hook-up, a fire ring, and picnic table. Details regarding electrical service are:

  • Flying Squirrel A Loop Upper: 21  50-amp sites
  • Flying Squirrel A Loop Lower: 20  50-amp sites
  • Flying Squirrel B Loop: 28  50-amp sites
  • Flying Squirrel C Loop: 14 ( 7 are electric with 50-amp, 7 nonelectric)
  • Plains Electric: 19  50-amp sites
  • Plains Non-Electric: 18 non-electrical sites
There is a dump station that can be used by all registered campers located near Plains Campground. There is a shower house available for all campers located between A and B Loop.

Squaw Creek Park

Squaw Creek Park features two campgrounds. Squaw Creek A Loop features 20 50-amp, full water hook-up sites, and four 50-amp sites without sewer hook up. Squaw Creek A Loop sites can be reserved in advance HERE. Squaw Creek B Loop features 47 50-amp sites.

A dump station is located at the campground entrance for use by all registered campers. There is a shower house located between A and B Loop for use by all campers. There are additional restrooms located in the B Loop area.

Buffalo Creek Park
1812 Coggon Road, Coggon, Iowa 52218
The Walnut Grove Campground at Buffalo Creek Park features 13 50-amp sites, with water hook-up, a fire ring, and picnic table at each site. A lighted, vault-type restroom is located nearby. A dump station is located at the entrance to the park and is for use by all registered campers.

Wakpicada Natural Area
Access Point: 201 Central City Road, Central City, Iowa 52214
The Wakpicada campground features 8 primitive sites with fire rings. There is no electric or water service. There is not a shower house, but there are pit toilets. Wakpicada is open to equestrian camping.

Matsell Bridge Natural Area
3745 Matsell Park Road, Central City, Iowa 52214

The Matsell Bridge Natural Area features three different camping areas. The main campground has 22 sites. The equestrian campground has 10 sites, eight of which have fire rings. Mount Hope has 6 sites. These sites do have not water or electrical service. There is not a shower house, but there are pit toilets.
