Hunting

The following areas permit hunting. All Iowa hunting laws apply in Linn County parks.  For more information about hunting laws, please visit the Iowa Department of Natural Resources website.

All Hunting Permitted

Chain Lakes Natural Area (373 acres)
Goose Pond Natural Area (296 acres)
Harold and Ruth Rehrauer Natural Area (80 acres)
Matsell Bridge Natural Area (1888 acres)
Palo Marsh Natural Area (144 acres)
Pinicon Ridge Park (approx. 100 acres north of Valley Farm Road)
South Cedar Natural Area (162 acres)
Wakpicada Natural Area (352 acres)
Wickiup Hill Natural Area (730 acres)

Special Restrictions

Otter Creek Natural Area

This 37-acre tract is bow hunting only. Firearms prohibited.
Blue Creek Natural Area
On this 70-acre tract deer hunting is prohibited. The pursuit of other game species is allowed during the appropriate seasons. This area is closed to all public use during the shotgun deer hunting season.
