Options of Linn County provides Day Habilitation services to adults with disabilities both in the community and in the facility. Operational hours are 9:00 to 2:30 Monday through Friday. Staff to consumer ratios range from 1:4 to 1:8 depending on the needs of the consumer.
Our Day Habilitation services focus on the person-centered plan of each consumer. Consumers are offered a wide variety of community integration and facility activities from which to choose. Community activities include bowling, movies, tours of community organizations, visits to the library, YMCA and area parks. Options staff coordinate volunteer opportunities with local schools and colleges, HACAP and Horizons Family Services to deliver Meals on Wheels, and to assist with community gardens. Also arranged are visits from community organizations coming in to Options. Organizations such as the nature center, animal shelters and fire and police departments are frequent visitors.
Two Day Habilitation programs are offered:
In the Modified Day Hab program, consumers are most often involved in activities in the facility, but community outings are also offered on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis depending on the needs and interests of the consumer.
In the Integrated Day Habilitation program daily opportunities for community outings are offered. When not on an outing, consumers participate in facility activities.
Transportation to and from integrated community sites are provided by Options staff. On occasion, consumers may utilize public transportation as a skill-building activity. Options will cover the cost of most activities.
Options facility is spacious, has abundant natural light and plenty of easily accessible restrooms and changing areas.
