Community Partnerships for Protecting Children

Community Partnerships for Protecting Children (CPPC) is not a program, but rather an initiative to engage community members and agencies to bolster supports for vulnerable families and their children.

The four strategies to reduce child abuse and neglect are:

  • Individualized Course of Action
  • Neighborhood & Community Networking
  • Policy & Practice Change
  • Shared Decision Making

The CPPC committee meetings are open to the public and you are invited to join our initiative.

History

CPPC grew out of the children’s program at the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. In 1995 and 1996 the Foundation awarded planning grants to four national sites, one of which was Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
